Jovar: After 22 years in the military, after serving tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and eight years stationed in Germany, I was ready for the next chapter. I had already earned my real estate license while still serving, and by the time I retired in 2021, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Real estate gave me a new way to serve people, built on the consistency, discipline, and leadership I learned in the military.

When I bought my first home in Parkersburg, the agent asked if I’d ever thought about real estate. I hadn’t, but I went with her to a few showings and something clicked. The problem-solving, the way you have to stay calm, explain things clearly, and guide people through it all felt a lot like what I’d done in the military, just in a different setting.
The early days were humbling. My first year, I sold one house. The next year, ten. Then thirty-eight. That growth came down to putting in the work, showing up prepared, treating people right, and building trust. I gravitated toward buyers, helping them make a good investment because it sets them up for success later.
I met Whitney in 2015. Over time, we built a life together. We got married, had two daughters, and chose to plant roots right here in the Mid-Ohio Valley. This is our home, and we love it here. In 2024, we launched Key MOVe Realty, a business that reflects what we believe in: honesty, integrity, and service. While our company is new, our office holds over 100 years of combined experience with agents who have served this community for decades. We’re here to become a trusted name in our community, a go-to resource for real estate, and a team of people they know they can count on.

Whitney: Three days after high school graduation, I joined the Army. I grew up hearing stories about my grandfather’s time in the Navy, and joined the National Guard at 18, went active duty in 2018, and did a deployment overseas. With the military comes an immense amount of responsibility to serve, lead others, and contribute to something bigger than yourself.
Jovar and I worked at the same armory, in different units. Over time, we became close. In 2019, I stepped into the role he was leaving as he prepared for retirement, and I took the deployment he would have gone on. A couple of years later, while I was still deployed, I reached out to him to help me buy my first home. He was my agent, and I used my VA loan to close the house before I even got back. That experience opened my eyes to how complex the process can be—and how important it is to have someone who knows what they’re doing.

We eventually started a relationship, and after having our first daughter, I decided to join him in real estate, earning my license in 2024. I had already absorbed so much just by being around him and the business. Jovar handles most of our buyers, and I enjoy helping sellers. We are a great team, with complementary strengths to balance one another.
We launched Key MOVe Realty to do things differently. We are here to build a company our community can trust, rooted in service, integrity, and a genuine commitment to doing right by people. This is where we live, where we are raising our kids, and where we want to invest our time and energy into. We stay involved by supporting local schools, sponsoring youth sports, and contributing to causes that make a real difference in our area. This is our next mission, and we are taking it on together.
